Did your System Restore point pre-date the first sign of trouble, perhaps you need to go back a couple of days earlier? Uninstalling a Nero product did not work correctly? Can the Revo Uninstaller succeed where Windows has failed?
Have a look at some of the third party uninstallers such as "Revo" that are on the market. Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Try it first by not checking either box this will run it in a Read-only mode to see if it flags any hard drive or file problems.
If it does, restart it by ticking both boxes, and rerun it to allow it to attempt to fix any found problems. How do I restore security settings to the default settings? Would appreciate your assistance again. What is giving you this latest error, is it anything to do with updating Windows, or are you still battling with Nero and Visio Studio? How do I reset Windows Update components?

I have been bored lately and so decided to get back into Oblivion. When I went to install it I foud I couldn't, instead i get the start up with the play option. I clicked on play i got an error message: The Oblivion Launcher could not find the Oblivion game executable.
Please reinstall Oblivion. I then clicked on uninstall so I could reinstall Oblivion. Please do the following: -Close and running programs -Empty your tempoary folder -Check your Internet connection Internet-based Setups Then try to run setup again. Error code: I tried those things, I do have a folder in My Documents named "Important" containing 3 document files for the purchase of 3 offical mods and the 3 official mod's setup files, I think my purchase has expired now so I don't want to delete them.
