Even after I got Origin to install, The Sims 4 wouldn't. So, for the last few days I have been attempting to install Origin on a freshly wiped and upgraded to windows 10 computer.
Since then I have recieved two major errors that are keeping me from making any headway on installing. The first is this: OriginThinSetup. EXE application error "The application has failed to start correctly 0xcb". So I was recommended to download the legacy client which worked, but, it forces me to update immediately.

Almost brings a nostalgic tear to my eye, back in the day we used to have the same issues with PC gaming on our x86 machines. Enter the product code through that and launch Bad Company 2 through Steam again. Make sure the account you used to log in on Origin. By any chance are you running Steam through adminstrator mode?
Not sure if it will solve this issue in particular, but running Steam as an admin is a good idea in general as it's kind of a blanket cover "fix-all-issues" solution to a lot of technical issues.
